Who I am with will determine what I will be able to do. Continuation Training Step 40

Today:  CT Step 40 - Who I am with will determine what I will be able to do. (MP3)

Who I am with will determine what I will be able to do. CT Step 40
While it is true that you are meant to serve those who are weaker than you, it is equally true that you need those who are as strong or stronger than you in order to enable you to move forward. Do not avoid these people, for you need them. You need their demonstration and you need their encouragement. The strong must walk with the strong if they are to serve the weak.

In life, not everyone is equal in their abilities or in their development. Surely this is obvious to you, but what may not seem obvious is that you need the strong to be with you and to remind you. You need to have relationships of great strength. If you can establish and maintain these relationships appropriately, then you will be able to serve those who are weaker than you without losing your strength to them. This is a necessary part of developing Wisdom in relationships, so practice this today.

Look at everyone with whom you are directly engaged and ask yourself, "Is this person strong enough to help me move forward?" The answer is either "yes" or "no." If they are not strong enough, then they are here to receive from you, but they cannot give to you. Though you need people to give to, at this moment you also very much need people from whom you can receive. Find out who in your life is strong enough to help you move forward in The Way of Knowledge. This is so very important.

Utilize your skill in discernment today. Practice upon the hour as We have instructed. And in your hour of silence, be still and listen very carefully. Intermittently throughout the day, call upon each person with whom you are directly engaged and ask yourself this question, "Is this person strong enough to help me move forward?"

Practice 40:   One 30-minute stillness practice.
                         Contemplation practice.
                         Hourly practice.

For the continuation of reading material, the next book in Volume 1 of The Message is the not yet published "The Pure Religion”. Thus the gray cover:

Note: If you’ve some interest, but this is the first time you’ve seen Steps, you should go to the beginning blog post. From here you will learn about Steps to Knowledge and can begin it on the day that makes sense; then progress as needed. Begin at the beginning.

If you do know about Steps, but have not done Steps twice completely, read the related materials, and have a sense of the direction of this study, you won’t get the experience. The Introduction begins:

“This is the Steps to Knowledge Continuation Training. It is designed to build upon the Steps that were learned in Steps to Knowledge to enable you to experience the grace, the power and the direction of Knowledge in your life and to become an expression of Knowledge in everything that you do. If you have completed the book, Steps to Knowledge, twice through and have followed the instructions as they were given without altering the curriculum in any way, then you are now ready to begin this more advanced study”.

If you are an independent student, that is certainly an option. Posts here provide a trail that may let you have a virtual companion when and if you want one. One may have to study alone, as I did in the beginning. There are other Steps students blogging their experience and you might find a person more like you as a companion, or use a number of such Steps journeys. There are options as well through the Free School of the New Message.
