| I will accept responsibility today. Step 271 |
ACCEPT RESPONSIBILITY, which is your ability to
respond. Accept this, cultivate it, cherish it and welcome it. It is what will
make you strong. It is what will make you devoted. It is what will bring to you
the relationships you have always desired. This is the empowerment you so
desperately need which you are learning now to claim for yourself. With this
empowerment come the conditions for empowerment—that you respond to Knowledge
and follow Knowledge, that you refrain from all motivations that are not born
of Knowledge, that you become objective with yourself and your motives, that
you question yourself without doubting yourself and that you surround yourself
with individuals who can support the emergence of Knowledge within you and are
free to tell you their own perceptions. This is essential for your well-being
and development. This will protect you from self-error, which as you become
more powerful will have greater and greater impact upon you and others.
ACCEPT RESPONSIBILITY TODAY. Accept this, for it
represents your truest and greatest need. Responsibility will enable you to
love and extend yourself into the world.
UPON THE HOUR THINK OF TODAY’S IDEA. And as you
enter meditation twice today, take full responsibility for being a student of Knowledge
and enter into stillness and silence with your complete being. Let no thought
or doubt dissuade you. Do not let ambivalence hold you back. Press onward. Open
yourself. Enter the mystery of your life so that you may be able to respond to
it, for this is the meaning of responsibility.

From the journal: Step
270 - With power comes responsibility.

a.m. Wednesday, May 16, 2001 – Step 270 "With Power Comes
Responsibility". – The text says – "Knowledge will empower you, and
you must be responsible to Knowledge".
I
feel responsibility to Knowledge, but do not feel any "power". If I
had power, I'd help my children. I'm using K – what K has given me, but still
the relationships are suffering.
Objectivity
does not translate to "all life is sacred". There is a churning of
souls – in the poor, uneducated/uneducable – and domination at the top among
those with earthly power – political, military, economic.
K
shows me a panorama of time, physical movement – gain and loss. Economic
advantage is not the basis for life, yet comfort – stasis – is temporary.
Stephen
Greer puts forth an interesting argument. UFO secrecy was warranted during the
Cold War when alien technology could assist our enemies – the Germans &
Russians – but no Cold War? No threat – so the secret government must be
exposed. w/o that – it can't become the topic for open and public debate.
I am
here – to be a resource – to be used.

p.m. Knowledge has no concern about my financial resources. I, in my personal
mind, feel like a fool.

p.m. "With power comes responsibility". I believe this is true. I
don't think I have "power". All my life I've not wanted power over
others – because that would lead to death – I didn't want the responsibility of
leading people to their death in the military. I don't/didn't want to threaten
or be threatened. I want idealism – the right thing for the right reason – not
that I've always done that, but I've usually had reasons for what I've done.
It
is this that makes me not fit. Of course I've done the wrong thing often –
investments for one thing… and, like the start of this – failure makes me feel
stupid – though I wonder why I need the money anyway.
Getting
rich has never been the goal – I've succeeded. To what degree does that make me
contribute? Less than I might, for I see others contributing more selflessly.
What
is my part? More alien analysis – thoughts of what is there? Still – that does
not help. Humanity must be itself first. That remains, regardless of the level
of contact.

"It is very common in the world that people want power w/o responsibility
for their idea of freedom is that they are not beholden to anything".
"I
don't want any power I can't handle responsibly". Does that mean anything?
The power is in the ideas and their use… it is an empowering.
I
have plenty, if not too much. The power I lack is that of healing my kids.
If I
were given wishes today, I'd use them for the kids that they might learn
quickly and end their struggles.

p.m. What else can one do except seek Knowledge?
More self-assessment and detail about what of
Stephen Greer’s perspective made sense to me. You may have your own challenges
to make sense of the others who speak about ETs. Let us continue.
