x2 Step 247 - I will listen to my Inner Teachers today. – Journal – Step 246

Today:  Step 247 - I will listen to my Inner Teachers today. (MP3)

I will listen to my Inner Teachers today. Step 247

LISTEN TO YOUR INNER TEACHERS, for they have wise counsel for you. Accept their counsel and work with it, realizing that only by following counsel will you understand its meaning and its value.

TAKE TIME UPON THE HOUR TO REMIND YOURSELF that your Inner Teachers are with you. Look forward to those two times in meditation today when you will be free from external obligations and involvements to spend time with your Inner Teachers. They will speak to you this day and help you to learn to listen and to discern their voice from other voices that plague your mind. They represent the one true voice that will speak unto your soul. They are not the substitutes that you create to keep yourself stimulated in fear. Therefore, extend your trust to them as they have extended their trust to you, for they are entrusting you with Knowledge in the world—a greater form of trust and acknowledgment you cannot imagine. For you to be the vehicle of Knowledge in the world, you must bear witness to the greatness of your origin and heritage and the greatness of God’s estimation of you.

THEREFORE, IN YOUR TWO DEEPER PRACTICES THIS DAY, in stillness and silence, turn your listening inward. Listen intently. Allow yourself to become receptive and you will know your Teachers are standing in the background, observing you, loving you and supporting you. And they will speak to you this day of things beyond the world and things within the world. They will remind you of your purpose and your function as you learn to listen this day.

PRACTICE 247: Two 30-minute practice periods. Hourly practice.

Any time we are sitting still during the day, such as waiting areas in travel terminals, we can listen.

This Step is very direct: “TODAY, THEN, IS A FORM OF FREEDOM, an expression of freedom to you who still, out of habit and complacency, attempt to justify your errors by assigning blame and responsibility.” It is about “freedom.”

In the text I underlined: “all the problems of the world can be solved without condemnation, for without condemnation,” adding !!!

Year two, blue ink, I tried to scope out the relationships explained in the Step.

From the journal:

12:26 a.m. Sunday, April 22, 2001 – Earth day – barely recognized in the Shenandoah Valley.

LTWOK – p. 24 – relationships.

Finding/recognizing those based on Knowledge. Patricia Summers’ description of her meeting/connection with Marshall was interesting/passionate/scary – the latter because of the weakness of the relationship to Cindy.

It is a little better… but not optimum. The best part is the freedom… though it does draw criticism.

In the Steps it talks about Knowledge relationships in other world/places – so I’m going with the fact that I’m working with and learning from others who are not in the physical. I have relationships – a family I sensed before S2K… so… I wait to see who may be in the physical.

7:25 a.m. Step 246 – All the problems of the world can be solved w/o (if there is no) condemnation. Seek Knowledge.

– Robert Wright/Robert Kaplan – C-SPAN 2 – 7:50 5 a.m. – 9 a.m. – Global cooperation framework, the need for micro-cooperation
the issue is sovereignty –
here in the micro world [of regional cooperation – micro-sovereignty.]

Wow! Zero-sum game – markets become community when culture becomes a hobby – economic interests dominate.

– growth/economic growth destabilizes political structures and when the growth is in-migration – people with new ideas and money, not just poor people as cheap labor – changes even faster.

Saved by community – seek to create/attention to the miracle of the commons rather than the tragedy of the commons. God in the detail, rather than the devil.

1:12 p.m. No excuse not to seek Knowledge once Holy Spirit is experienced. How to better use the mundane life.

6:14 p.m. Ready to go for the Sunday evening hike/meditation. Last week I was in Virginia Beach. The afternoon has been spent alone. Watch race, iron shirts, fold laundry, email Tim, put washers in faucets. Hardly a day of reclaiming Knowledge.

I had a few insights in the morning. It is not clear what I must do. Some of the time is piddling. – Isolation is mine – but I do not care. Hidden in the open I remain.

It is all incredible right now.

7:25 p.m. On the trail – new spot – below the rise on the trail – in the hollow that comes down from the Patience. Many large trees at this point – two doubles – poplar? oak? – the larger trees are at the bottom – where nutrients flow downhill – soil somewhat thicker – closer to the stream. Seeking “more organic” sites – but this area is among large stones. It feels protected. The noise of vehicles – the Skyline Drive is just 100 yards up the side of the larger hollow.

Step 246 – Practice #2

8:09 p.m. At the start of the meditation. To get to God… you have to go beyond God as taught here on earth. Not full silence – bug got me about halfway through. I enjoy this path in the woods. What can I do to get to Knowledge quicker? To experience it more deeply? The Steps must guide me. I must be open to guidance.

Getting relationships right is a big part of Steps. The older you are when you begin, the more and longer relationships you have. Very difficult to sort out. For the young, to get this perspective early in life is a greater benefit that you can imagine. At any age, there is a loneliness being in the world, but that itself was a reason to seek this New Message. Let us continue.

Note: If you’ve some interest due to this or other Steps, you should go to the beginning blog post. From here you will learn about Steps to Knowledge and can begin it on the day that makes sense; then progress as needed. You can use the posts on this blog as a companion if it helps. They will remain in order in the archives - one post per Step.

Often it takes 18 months to get through the Steps once. For this blog, the pace is one-a-day, but it really makes no difference how fast you do it, only that you begin, persist and repeat. Posts here provide a trail that may let you have a virtual companion when and if you want one. One may have to study alone, as I did in the beginning. There are other Steps students blogging their experience and you might find a person more like you as a companion, or use a number of such Steps journeys. There are options as well through the Free School of the New Message.
