CT Step 61 - Today I will be discrete. – Journal – CT Step 60

Today:  CT Step 61 - Today I will be discrete. (MP3)

Today I will be discrete. CT Step 61
Today be discrete. Carry on whatever conversation is necessary in your work, but do not reveal what is happening within you. Be aware of it, but keep it to yourself for today. If you feel prompted by another to talk about your experience, politely decline. Say, "I can't talk about that right now. I'm not ready to speak about that." Hold it within yourself as a conscious act.

Just as Knowledge is discrete with you, you must learn to be discrete with others. Think how discrete the Creator is! My goodness! There is a lot to be communicated. But it must be saved for the right person, the right moment and the right time. Who has such patience? The timing is crucial. Learn this and your words will have great power and you will not waste your life force. You will not lose your insights. Your vitality will not be taken from you through inappropriate conversations.

Discretion is necessary for depth of understanding as well as for the development of discernment. Practice stillness in your meditation and practice awareness and discretion upon the hour. How much time would be saved and how much suffering would be prevented if people would practice this.

Practice 61:    One 30-minute stillness practice.
                          Contemplation practice.
                          Hourly practice.

6:48 a.m. October 24, 2001 – Wednesday

Step 60 – Today I will listen to the world. This is a practice I've done all my life.

6:33 p.m. On the trail, by the stream, at the rock/tree where I last meditated. Today's Step is #60 "Today I will listen to the world". It suggests one be in nature, barefoot. I'm sitting here barefoot – the first time in the SNP that I can recall. This is the contemplation. I will listen more because I need to Know.

6:41 p.m. What is the world telling me? It says that it is strong; it supports all life. In times of transition, there is usually some time to react and move. The alert ones move first, if it’s away from a glacier or a weather shift. In some cases – meteor – there's no warning – but earth is strong, it supports life, and life adapts and continues.

The world needs well aligned – not perfectly aligned regions.

11:23 p.m. 1) The body is a burden. 2) Yesterday I found a dime on the way to work. I decided I didn't need it, then put it down face up for someone else to find. Noting many will not pick up a penny heads down, I started putting some heads up for others. Today I extended the program and put down all my change. No doubt, this is been done before. I'm not that needy now – looking at the sidewalk. 3) I paid $800 on David's electric bill. Better than the truck. I'm grateful for my job which allows me to do this.

I did the Step as directed and recorded my results. The message was more positive than I would have expected. The day ends on a positive note, perhaps as a consequence. We continue.

Note: If you’ve some interest, but this is the first time you’ve seen Steps, you should go to the beginning blog post. From here you will learn about Steps to Knowledge and can begin it on the day that makes sense; then progress as needed. Begin at the beginning.

If you do know about Steps, but have not done Steps twice completely, read the related materials, and have a sense of the direction of this study, you won’t get the experience. The Introduction begins:

“This is the Steps to Knowledge Continuation Training. It is designed to build upon the Steps that were learned in Steps to Knowledge to enable you to experience the grace, the power and the direction of Knowledge in your life and to become an expression of Knowledge in everything that you do. If you have completed the book, Steps to Knowledge, twice through and have followed the instructions as they were given without altering the curriculum in any way, then you are now ready to begin this more advanced study”.

If you are an independent student, that is certainly an option. Posts here provide a trail that may let you have a virtual companion when and if you want one. One may have to study alone, as I did in the beginning. There are other Steps students blogging their experience and you might find a person more like you as a companion, or use a number of such Steps journeys. There are options as well through the Free School of the New Message.
