Review the past six steps and consider the message
they are giving you. Let this message grow. We are providing essential material
here for your advancement and for your initiation into Knowledge. But these
things must be taken to heart and considered deeply over time. The quick and
the easy way is for people who cannot make the journey. They buy postcards. But
they don’t make their destinations. You are heading for a real destination now,
and therefore you must consider things in a greater way. You must become
deeper, more serious and more focused in your intent. This will give you a
lightheartedness over time because your energy will be freed for greater
things, and you will not feel burdened by so much that entraps people around
you.
Return to your Four Pillars today and see if
anything requires your attention. Be very conscientious here and very thorough.
Look carefully. Ask if there is anything you need to know in each of the Four
Pillars.

Pillars Review.

Step 69 - I will not take my freedom for granted.
8:03
a.m. November 2, 2001 – Friday –
Freedom.
I have not adequately been using my freedom. Religious freedom has been used in
my search. Political freedom has been skirted in my career as I worked
understand and promote regional cooperation without political ideology – right
or left.
Economic
freedom – misused because it was misunderstood. Relationship freedom – some
poor choices in behavior. My life is not a complete disaster, but because it
has been unbalanced, it is not optimum. My goal remains the same. It is my
ability to self-discipline that has lagged – and that was low because I did not
have Knowledge.
The
ideas were not enough to motivate. Ideas can always change and they did. My
life is no failure. The future can be more focused if I remain true to
Knowledge and practice my lessons.
11:45
p.m. Contemplation… "I will not take my freedom for granted". This
was a powerful lesson because I have been taking my freedom for granted. This
hit me with as much impact as in the final Steps, first time through, when I
learned the purpose was to be "at home in the world". I had not been
at home then, though I've absorbed a goal. I can't reach it w/o being active
with my freedom. That will take greater focus, but it is doable. At the PDC-RC launch
today I chose to get over my pain – Nora Belle & Bob Sager were there –
hardly anyone else, to see the new ship. My office looks very nice. Since they’re
paying me well and because I need the money, and the work aligns…I must keep
that pillars strong.
At
11:30 a.m. I heard from Diane. Dad was in the hospital. He fell out of his
chair. I need to go there and I will on Tuesday. It will necessitate work to
get that done…but I'll have to do it. My freedom must be used.
The
phrase for Step 69 – "I will not take my freedom for granted", was
hard to remember. The practice says to consider the value of your freedom. I've
never thought about it because I've lived within the lines and have not had my
life/liberty threatened. The work thing was not about freedom, but power.
Perhaps I had too much freedom – or did not adequately keep the commission
informed. I did what I felt was needed. Some results were minimal – so after a
point, I had too many against … >time for sleep.
Freedom
– my freedom will be used.
Another
important Step for me, equal to that of being "at home in the world" I
wrote, yet the phrase was hard to remember. The journal entry ends with some processing thoughts. What shall I/you/we do with our
freedom? We continue.

Note: If you’ve some interest, but this is the
first time you’ve seen Steps, you should go to the beginning blog post. From here you will learn about Steps to Knowledge
and can begin it on the day that makes sense; then progress as needed. Begin at
the beginning.
If you do know about Steps, but have not done Steps
twice completely, read the related materials, and have a sense of the direction
of this study, you won’t get the experience. The Introduction begins:
“This is the Steps
to Knowledge Continuation Training. It is designed to build upon the Steps
that were learned in Steps to Knowledge to
enable you to experience the grace, the power and the direction of Knowledge in
your life and to become an expression of Knowledge in everything that you do.
If you have completed the book, Steps to
Knowledge, twice through and have followed the instructions as they were
given without altering the curriculum in any way, then you are now ready to
begin this more advanced study”.
If you are an independent student, that is certainly
an option. Posts here provide a trail that may let you have a virtual companion
when and if you want one. One may have to study alone, as I did in the
beginning. There are other Steps students blogging their experience and you
might find a person more like you as a companion, or use a number of such Steps
journeys. There are options as well through the Free School of the New Message.
