My freedom is awaiting me. CT Step 67 |
What is freedom except the ability to unite with
who you are and why you are here? The inability to do this represents the lack
of freedom in all of its manifestations. Your freedom is awaiting you. Others’
freedom is awaiting them. And yet you suffer every day without it, and so do
they.
Do not think that freedom will always be there for
you and that it does not matter when you achieve it, for you are paying a great
price and carrying a great burden without it. Feel this price; Sense this
burden. And you will want to advance. You will want to progress. You will not
be satisfied with the compromises that you make with yourself or with the
compromises that people make with themselves or with you. For this only
prolongs suffering and misery and only keeps you from gaining access to your
true gift and your true value in life. What benefit is there in doing this?
What does this serve?
Often when people ask for things for themselves,
they are only asking for things to prolong their misery. They are asking for
the substitutes for happiness—-a new relationship, a new possession or a new
experience or sensation captivates them, and they want it. And they pay so much
for it. But what are they really asking for here? What is the gift to them and
to others that is truly lasting? Simple pleasures are fine and are a natural
part of enjoyment in life, but dedicating yourself to them represents a serious
problem and demonstrates that the person involved does not value his or her
freedom or existence in the world.
Freedom is awaiting you. Come in your time of
stillness practice to receive it. Exercise it during your hourly practices
where you come into the present to see where you are and how you feel.
Freedom here is a great emphasis, not only for your
personal liberation but because the world is emerging into a Greater Community
of intelligent life. Power and freedom become very essential within this larger
context. For power and freedom must be protected, developed and advanced here
if they are to be safe guarded. Humanity is in a very vulnerable position in
the Greater Community. You will learn more about this as you proceed in your
study of The Way of Knowledge.
Therefore, think of your freedom not only for
yourself and for those whom you can think of, but for the entire world. The
world desperately needs men and women who can demonstrate this and speak for
this, for this is one of the great needs of the world today.
Practice 67: One
30-minute stillness practice.
Contemplation practice.
Hourly practice.

Step 66 - My freedom is my gift to others.

–
More regional thoughts. I didn't introduce "RI" in my Sunday talk. It
could come in “Need boundaries” ~ “To solve problems, cross boundaries".
Regions – with hard boundaries can easily become another level of parochialism.
Take
regional community too small denominations – like UU – must be regional to have
a market, have a congregation.
Turtle
regionalism, tree regionalism, hawk regionalism – watershed/bio region
9:30
a.m. Q: – Not where is the world going, but where is humanity going?
Me –
I'm in search of an audience.
6:03
p.m. Contemplation time. Step 66 – "My freedom is my gift to others".
What
are my goals – less pain in relationships, less pain in life for David and
Sarah which means less pain for me.
Assuming
responsibility for my freedom causes the world to fade away.
6:43
p.m. I'm doing little – almost nothing or so it seems. I am calm. The regional
vision continues to come in. Two hours were spent with Amber L… this afternoon
on the regional website. She could build the database for regional communities.
Q: –
Reading ahead – Step 67 – It says freedom is "…the ability to unite with
who you are and why you are here?" I look at people in terms of does
something help for RI/RC? I search for these things every day. Do websites,
technologies, information help me understand how we get to be more free with
cooperation.
7:57
p.m. Reading ahead in Steps to find out more about the concept of freedom S2K
speaks of.
10:31
p.m. Trying to understand the S2K concept of freedom and service. I'm not here
to serve myself nor extend my lineage or family – there’s no biology to send
forward, no close family to mentor. So…is it humanity that I work for? Because
we are in a soul cycle or some such thing? For my future incarnation is wise to
keep this going?
The
notion of freedom as being developed through the Steps has gotten my attention
and is causing me to look ahead. We continue.

Note: If you’ve some interest, but this is the
first time you’ve seen Steps, you should go to the beginning blog post. From here you will learn about Steps to Knowledge
and can begin it on the day that makes sense; then progress as needed. Begin at
the beginning.
If you do know about Steps, but have not done Steps
twice completely, read the related materials, and have a sense of the direction
of this study, you won’t get the experience. The Introduction begins:
“This is the Steps
to Knowledge Continuation Training. It is designed to build upon the Steps
that were learned in Steps to Knowledge to
enable you to experience the grace, the power and the direction of Knowledge in
your life and to become an expression of Knowledge in everything that you do.
If you have completed the book, Steps to
Knowledge, twice through and have followed the instructions as they were
given without altering the curriculum in any way, then you are now ready to
begin this more advanced study”.
If you are an independent student, that is
certainly an option. Posts here provide a trail that may let you have a virtual
companion when and if you want one. One may have to study alone, as I did in
the beginning. There are other Steps students blogging their experience and you
might find a person more like you as a companion, or use a number of such Steps
journeys. There are options as well through the Free School of the New Message.
