x2 Step 77 – Journal Step 76 - Today I will not judge another.

Today: Step 77 – Review the past week of practices and instruction (MP3)

IN YOUR REVIEW TODAY, once again review the past week of practices and instruction. Once again examine the qualities within yourself which aid you in your preparation and the qualities within yourself that make your preparation more difficult. Observe these things objectively. Learn to strengthen those aspects of yourself that encourage and strengthen your participation in the reclamation of Knowledge, and learn to adjust or correct those qualities that interfere. You must recognize both to have Wisdom. You must learn of truth and you must learn of error. You must do this to progress, and you must do this to serve others. Unless you have learned of error and can look at it objectively and understand how it has arisen and how it can be relieved—until you have learned these things—you will not know how to serve others, and their errors will anger you and frustrate you. With Knowledge your expectations will be in harmony with the nature of another. With Knowledge you will learn how to serve and you will forget how to condemn.

PRACTICE 77: One long practice period.

The Step says: “UPON EACH HOUR TODAY, repeat this statement as you witness yourself and the world around you,” but when this is the Step: “Today I will not judge another,” I find that I say it many times in many situations. This could be a Step every day – to manage our inner judges.

From the Journal

7:20 a.m. November 3, 2000 – to be a member of the regional intelligentsia. – From the viewpoint of any place on the planet… What is your global strategy? It must be based on regions – east or west of the line of demarcation, North/South nations, fine-tuned to regions within regions.

7:25 a.m. It is a great privilege for me to live and work in this region as the cooperative behavior I've learned to call regional intelligence emerges.

I'm observing the work – contributing to the work, seeking to understand and communicate the work.

– intentional regional community the goal –

– all cooperation is regional – two or more local

– intent on who's part? –
  – encourage regions by state
  – localities have to accept/find common thread to be a region, and "intentional community"

Your work may or may not be a topic in your journal, as it has been and remains so this day for me. What work is my work? Is there only one thing, or are there many things? The answers will be different for each student, but “the work” is a common concern. Let us continue; not judging as we go.

Note: If you’ve some interest due to this or other Steps, you should go to the beginning blog post. From here you will learn about Steps to Knowledge and can begin it on the day that makes sense; then progress as needed. You can use the posts on this blog as a companion if it helps. They will remain in order in the archives - one post per Step.

Often it takes 18 months to get through the Steps once. For this blog, the pace is one-a-day, but it really makes no difference how fast you do it, only that you begin, persist and repeat. Posts here provide a trail that may let you have a virtual companion when and if you want one. One may have to study alone, as I did in the beginning. There are other Steps students blogging their experience and you might find a person more like you as a companion, or use a number of such Steps journeys. There are options as well through the Free School of the New Message.
