| I will allow my errors to teach me. Step 73 |
ALLOWING YOUR ERRORS TO INSTRUCT YOU will give them
value. They would have no value without this and would be a mark against you in
your own estimation. Using errors for instruction, then, is taking advantage of
your own limitations to have them point the way to greatness. God wishes for
you to learn from your errors so that you may learn of the greatness of God.
This is done not to belittle you but to raise you up. There are many errors you
have committed, and there are some errors you will still make. It is in order
to guard against the repetition of damaging error and to learn from error that
we wish to instruct you now.
UPON EACH HOUR OF THIS DAY, repeat to yourself that
you wish to learn from your errors and feel for a moment what this means. Thus,
through many periods of practice today, you will begin to understand the
statement you are making and will perhaps then perceive how it can be brought
about. If you are willing to learn from your errors, you will not be so afraid
to recognize them. Then you will wish to understand them, not to deny them, not
to bear false witness against them, not to call them by other names, but to
admit them for your own benefit. From this recognition, you will be able to
assist others in the reclamation of Knowledge, for they too must learn how to
learn from their errors.

a.m. "I will trust my deepest inclinations today." I woke @ 5:23 a.m.
and remaining in bed, reflected on this life of mine – my current and past
relationships. I could see and then/simultaneous feel the love of the lake-shore/this planet…which I love.
The
lake [Michigan] was where I
went as a child. It was a big part of my relationship to nature/to God/to life.
Being here this weekend reminded me of that relationship and how it influenced
my life. My enjoyment of the sea and joining the Navy. Now in Virginia, my
relationship to nature is with the mountains/the woods. It is @ the water and
in the woods that I'm closest to God.
The
people I see – they are in the world, learning/making their way.
<It
is a great mystery this planetary manifestation.
S2K
is a great program for me. I think others would benefit. There are two levels –
application for life on earth and then for life within the GC. The former is a
long trip…one I'm just beginning.
Yesterday
– it said my failures were due to not recognizing my spirituality. That is the
key to my being at home here on earth…the goal of S2K. Ending idealism –
focusing on life.

p.m. At the airport in Milwaukee. I'm leaving a rich land – Wisconsin… To go to
a poor land – Virginia. I've been doing this for 30 years. Why? Cold winters
are not a good enough reason.

p.m. I've paid attention to my spiritual path…followed it as best I could. I
did not attend to finances – an error; I did not have partners who were willing
to do so jointly; and when I started a year and a half ago…I compounded my
errors with Y2K fear.
Steps
is where I need to be…I just need to pay more attention?…Or do my steps.
6:54
p.m. Step 72 – "I will trust my deepest inclinations today." The text
says – I must learn to discern & distinguish them. It also says… "Your
deepest inclinations always lead you to meaningful relationships…"
Today
I allow myself to recognize my deepest inclinations"

p.m. Regional Intelligence is my deepest inclination.
>Going
into meditation → the thought → standards promote/allow cooperation. – computer,
manufacturing, language, ISO 9000 – we have more cooperation than we recognize?
→With my trifocals
I'm living in three worlds – two of which are always out of focus. When I am
still in looking through one set of lenses – it is OK. If I move quickly – I
get fuzzy lines.
This
could enhance my practice – though it is irritating.
I'm
becoming more aware of the growing level of intelligence on this planet. The
need for science and religion to work together to self-manage this reality and
advance the human environment w/o damaging the ecosystem.
The
future for many/most is to get caught up to the present. This is the future
shock over the past 30 years.

p.m. At the Pittsburgh airport – reading pillars → my mission – to see cooperation – boundary
crossing everywhere – how it supports our humanity…

p.m. On the AirBus to D.C. – to make visible the design of cooperation.
When traveling, sometimes there’s more time, sometimes less time to think and
record thoughts related to this practice and one’s life. Record when you can –
it is yourself that you will in the future be reading, trying to understand how
and when things changed.
