Today: Step 186 - I am born of an Ancient Heritage. (MP3)
“I am born of an Ancient Heritage.” Step 186 |
YOU ARE BORN OF AN ANCIENT HERITAGE. This will arise
in your mind naturally, though it is beyond words and beyond description. In
essence it is a pure experience of life and inclusion. What is remembered in
this experience are those relationships that you have cultivated thus far in
your evolution up until this time. Only the reclamation of relationships can be
carried forward beyond your life in this world. The individuals that you have reclaimed
unto yourself as your Spiritual Family now exist as your Spiritual Family. They
form the growing body of Knowledge and inclusion in life which you are now
capable of experiencing.
YOU ARE HERE TO SERVE YOUR SPIRITUAL FAMILY, your
small learning group that have been working together through many ages and
circumstances in order to cultivate and advance their members so that your
group may join with other groups, and so forth. Like streams joining together
into greater and greater bodies of moving water, you follow your inevitable
course to the source of your life. This is the natural way, the genuine way,
the way that exists beyond all speculation and philosophy, beyond all the fears
and ambitions of humanity. This is the way of things—forever mysterious, beyond
your comprehension and yet fully available to serve you in the immediate
circumstances of your life. Such is the greatness of the mystery of your life,
and such is its application in even the smallest detail of your life. Thus,
your life here is complete.
YOU ARE BORN OF A GREAT HERITAGE. Thus, greatness
is with you because of your relationships. Receive this Heritage in stillness
in your two deep meditation practices today and acknowledge it upon the hour.
Allow this day to demonstrate both the reality and the denial of this great
truth, for as you see the world in its denial attempting to act out the
substitutes for Knowledge, you will learn to value Knowledge and to realize
that Knowledge is here already.
PRACTICE 186: Two 30-minute practice periods. Hourly
practice.
What is “Ancient”? This picture is from 2004 where
I was at the dedication of a school that had been converted to a county office
building. What struck me about this cornerstone was the date: A.L. 5934. The
A.D. dates commemorated the school’s building dates; 1934 the original and 1958
rebuilding. My initial thought was that the A.L. date had something to do with the
computed date for the beginning of creation based on the history in the Old
Testament. That turned out to be true. AL is the abbreviation
of the Latin words anno Lucis, meaning "in the year of light." The
link gives rest of the story. What is ancient? For teenagers it applies to
anyone over age 30.

185 - I have come into the world for a purpose.

6:15
p.m. Home. Tired. It has been a busy day. Joe C… presented the work of his IST
students at the Shenandoah Valley Technology Council which met @ LFCC. Many old
friends from the Valley tech startup were there…lots more work to do. I'm
better off as planner – Steve has to do grants for rideshare & rural transportation
planning.
Practice
#2 I have come into the world for a purpose.
7:40
p.m. Ate dinner. Still tired. When I came out of meditation@6:41 I thought it
was the morning. I went to get Cindy out of bed. It was empty. No one in the
bathroom. Had she gone to work early? I came downstairs – I realized it was
evening. I made nachos & watched the C-SPAN tape of the bio of Walter
Chrysler. –
My
desire is to read GCW.…I feel good – my back/hip is nearly 100%, but more
strength is needed. …
The meditation must have been quite deep in order
to me to be so disoriented. A confirmation of the fatigue. Really need work on that
health pillar.
The Steps page has comments and a diagram.
The blue ink is this second year. Recognition of
the focus on heart and its need to “find
its way into your consciousness.”
Applying my water and watershed planning
perspective, this diagram puts “Home” as a “Spirit
Ocean” in which on the left: “Spirits flung wide by the big bang?” At the top – this map is labeled as the “Spirit
Shed” – like watershed – with “Spirit Flow” with “Spirit
Groups”, like tributaries.
The purpose in showing this is simply an
encouragement for you to draw or otherwise try to illustrate relationships for
yourself. Your maps may be based on the type of work and/or visual thinker you
are.
Let us continue.

Note: If you’ve some interest due to this or other
Steps, you should go to the beginning blog post. From here you will learn about Steps to Knowledge
and can begin it on the day that makes sense; then progress as needed. You can
use the posts on this blog as a companion if it helps. They will remain in
order in the archives - one post per Step.
Often it takes 18 months to get through the Steps
once. For this blog, the pace is one-a-day, but it really makes no difference
how fast you do it, only that you begin, persist and repeat. Posts here provide
a trail that may let you have a virtual companion when and if you want one. One
may have to study alone, as I did in the beginning. There are other Steps
students blogging their experience and you might find a person more like you as
a companion, or use a number of such Steps journeys. There are options as well
through the Free School of the New Message.
