IF YOU CAN ACCEPT THAT YOUR WORLD IS PART of a Greater Community, which is simply obvious if you will look, then you must accept that the world is being influenced by the Greater Community, for the world is part of a Greater Community and cannot be independent of it. How the Greater Community is influencing your world is beyond your current ability to comprehend. But to understand that the world is being influenced allows you to view it from a greater perspective, which from a purely human viewpoint you would not be able to accomplish, for a purely human viewpoint does not allow for other intelligent life to exist. The absurdity of this point of view becomes quite evident as you begin to look at the universe objectively. This will inspire in you wonder, greater interest and caution as well. This is very important because the world is being influenced by the Greater Community, and you are part of the world that is being influenced.

AS THE PHYSICAL WORLD THAT YOU LIVE IN is being influenced by greater physical forces beyond your visual range, so the world mentally is being influenced by intelligent life that is engaged with your world. This intelligent life represents forces for good and forces for ignorance as well. In this, you must come to comprehend a fundamental truth: Weaker minds are influenced by stronger minds. This is true in your world and in all worlds. Beyond the physical, this does not hold true, but in physical life this is the case. That is why you are engaged now in making your mind strong and learning to respond to Knowledge, which represents the force for good everywhere in the universe. As you become stronger, you come to understand and comprehend more and more. Thus, your mind must be cultivated in Knowledge to become stronger so that it may serve a true cause.

TODAY, UPON THE HOUR, repeat the idea for the day and in your two deeper practice periods, attempt to concentrate on the words that we are giving you here. Use your mind actively. Do not allow it to stray and find refuge in meaningless or little things. Think of the greatness of these ideas, but do not consider them fearfully, for fear is not called for. What is called for is objectivity so that you may comprehend the greatness of your world, your universe and your opportunity within it.

7 a.m. March 9, 2001 – 2000 Census for Virginia has been released. I spent last night sending out emails after compiling a spreadsheet. Is this my mind serving spirit/K or my ego? It is a demonstration of power or insanity? Or business sense – 1st with the most?

7:29 a.m. Peers & Neighbors data sorts – Region = Neighbors – peers – may be anywhere – in similar regions –

3:56 p.m. Alson Smith Library – SU – back from the DSB meeting - a.m. was Marsh Institute. Decent meeting.

S2K Practice #1 – Step 202 – I behold the Greater Community today.

– "Try to look at your life from beyond the purely human perspective, for from a purely human perspective you will see only a human life, a human world and a human universe. You do not live in a human universe. You do not live in a human world. You do not live a purely human life".

Today, in my meetings – hearing, seeing that which people spoke about – I could sense Knowledge working altogether to get us to the next steps. This in the Marsh workshop – talking about redevelopment of the City – and the other issues. These are humans dealing with human problems created by settlement. I decided – Settlement never improves the natural environment. The consequent built environment – from log cabin to skyscraper, only makes the natural habitat more harsh for other life forms.

– I am human. I've been in the human dominated sector of the world since my birth. The mass of 6 billion humans is not the major biomass in the world. Why does it think so? Very few of the "Crown of Creation" – men have asked.

We are not the majority species – yet – we dominate or seem to do so. Looking at the forest, the natural environment – lives of cells and organisms within them… – Break complexity in either direction – richness of life –

This drama and trauma exists in the human environment, but that is a small part of the world and local universe. I spent most of my time in the human sphere, but have not had great support. I like the forest world/mountain rock world of the Shenandoah National Park. …

The Steps pages have notes from years one and two, plus an entry from 2012, when I did Steps along with the first year of Twitter and blog.

I looked up the definition of equanimity: composure: steadiness of mind under stress. Certainly a valuable trait. On 7/28/2012 wrote: “It was difficult to learn that earth was not the center of the universe. It is more difficult to learn that Humanity is not the Crown of Creation”. Perspective is amazing. Let us continue.
