TODAY I WILL NOT THINK THAT I CAN UNDERSTAND
Knowledge with my intellect or that I can conceptualize the greatness of life.
I will not think today that by a mere idea or assumption I can fully gain
access to Knowledge itself. Realizing this, I will understand what is required
of me and what I must give to my practices, for I must give of myself.
YOU MUST GIVE OF YOURSELF. You cannot merely think
of ideas and hope that they will answer your greatest need. Realizing this today,
repeat your practice upon the hour and in your deeper meditations give yourself
completely to the experience of Knowledge. Enter into stillness. Allow yourself
to be completely involved. With this you will exercise the power of your own
mind on your behalf. You will then realize that you have the power to dispel
distractions; you have the power to dispel fear; you have the power to dispel obstructions
because your will is to know Knowledge.

practice.
The bookstore pictured is in Madison, Wisconsin. I
spent much time in it as an undergrad in the 1960’s and have had luck every time
I visited. It is part of the looking for Knowledge to go in bookstores and
libraries constantly hoping the book will be there that can propel one a bit
farther. The Steps are taking us to experience, so as important as the books
are, they are tools, not experience.
As a review day, I’m beginning with the key points
from Steps as recorded on my index cards from 2001. I did not remember the
exact process until reading this journal ahead and finding out that the notes
were all done on the review day. I’ve put up scans of the cards, but they are
probably hard to read. This time I transcribed the notes – which are phrases
and sentences from each Step. Abbreviations were used and are put into the
transcript here. Review points Steps 183 – 196.
Part Two
“The mystery of your life calls
for you because from mystery come all things of concrete value in the world.”
183 - I seek experience not answers. … It is better for you to ask
questions of K and then receive the experience that K can give you. … An answer is so very little. … Your mind is full of answers, and
they have not answered your questioning thus far.
184 – What you are seeking today
is something greater than you have considered before. You are seeking to know
the meaning of your K through its demonstration.
185 – You are here to serve, but
to serve you must receive. … When
your will is being experienced, the methods will follow naturally. We give only
so much methodology as is necessary to aim your mind in the proper direction. … When you learn to work with your
nature, you will learn to utilize it on your own behalf.
186 – You are born of an Ancient Heritage … it is a pure experience of life and inclusion … You are here to serve your spiritual
family
187 – You are not merely a human being in this one world. You are a
citizen of the Greater Community of Worlds. … affirm your citizenship … This growing experience of stillness
will enable you to understand all things, for your mind was created to
assimilate K, and this is how understanding comes about.
188 –
Understand: (1) there
is only purpose (2) essence not
stimulation is the measure of greatness (3) all substitutes for purpose are from fearful imagination (4) personal
mind & phys body are small & meant to serve the greatness of K. (5) This
integrates you and life as well. … your
development…is your
gift to the world.
189 - Expand
your view of yourself so that you may learn to be objective about your world.
Do not merely cast human values, assumptions and goals upon your world, for
this blinds you to the world’s purpose and evolution and makes it far more
difficult for you to appreciate that you are a citizen of a greater life.
190
- Your world is seeking a Greater Community. This will require that your
world’s own internal community become unified (regional intelligence). This is also a part of the evolution of
all intelligent life in all worlds. You have come here to serve this.
191 –
Your K is born of life universal. It
eclipses your humanity but gives your humanity true meaning. Greater Life
wishes to express itself in your world, in your era and in the circumstances
that actually exist now. … Your
humanity is w/o meaning unless it serves a greater context and is a part of a
Greater Reality. …
This Greater Reality
is in you … You can
only receive it and allow it to express itself. It will express itself through
your humanity, and it will give you a greater experience of yourself. - Life
has depth. You must penetrate it.
192 - Someone who is with K can undertake mundane
activities w/o any sense of disgrace. Activities are only activities. … Do not
neglect small things. Care for small things so that your life in the world may
be stable and may progress properly.
193 - K is attracted to K. …If you
listen to others w/o judgment, you will hear both K and the call for K. You
will see where K exists and where it has been denied. … It is
your task to experience yourself in life and to allow K to arise, for K will
give itself when and where it is appropriate. This allows you to have peace,
for you are not trying to control the world.
194 - Go
where you are needed, where you need to go. Discern the actual motivation for
this and distinguish it from any sense of guilt or obligation to others.
195
- K is more powerful than you
realize. … as you go away from K,
you re-enter confusion and the world of imagination. As you come closer to K,
you enter certainty, confirmation and a world of reality & purpose.
196 –
Review 3/3/01 Become objective about your life. – Use this review to further and
deepen your comprehension of your preparation, keeping in mind that
understanding always comes in hindsight. This is a great truth in The Way of
Knowledge.

a.m. Saturday, March 3, 2001 – Reading the NARC regional agenda – no focus on
definition of regions; no focus on Federal investment to support regions.
Virginia regions have DNA – they are defined, they have names and they are
aligned.
A
region w/o self-awareness cannot be intelligent – it doesn't know it is. Isms w/o
boundaries – where do they work to achieve their vision of perfection.
Networks
of State standard regions.
→ Need Governors to be proud of their regions. A State
standard – for homeland management/defense. "Incidents" wars or
accidents.

Regions rated – focus on government services regions because it is in that
context that quality of life is delivered.
→State &
Federal policies need to support the overhead of cooperation. State
Standard Regions – Virginia has Regional DNA – regions are defined, named and
aligned. The regional genome project. Self organization for the whole.
Regions
can be the basis for emergency management/homeland defense.
→Deal with the
mono-polarity of localism.

GCW II – 11 – Spiritual Practice – I am committed to GCW/Steps. This is a path
I can use to increase my ability to practice.

130 – "Seek Knowledge within those things that are primary (to your life
and fulfillment). Then you will begin to experience the power, the presence and
the grace of Knowledge."
I do
have time for all things to grow.
What
is primary to life are David & Sarah, their children and families – my
family – and regional intelligence for the facilitation of cooperation.

p.m. The Med – as an officer – my common experience of the Med would not have
been the same as YN Christoffel (while hearing Med – related tones – on a CD –)
Some days there is much to cover. Nothing
remarkable about my study here. I keep moving – you should too.
