x2 Step 234 - Knowledge serves humanity in all ways. – Journal – Step 233

Today:  Step 234 - Knowledge serves humanity in all ways. (MP3)

Knowledge serves humanity in all ways. Step 234

KNOWLEDGE ACTIVATES ALL MENTAL AND PHYSICAL ABILITIES for good. It directs all manner of individual pursuits that are for the benefit of humanity. In the arts, in the sciences, in all endeavors, in the simplest gesture and the greatest act, Knowledge demonstrates a greater life and strengthens all of the highest qualities in individuals who are engaged with it.

BECAUSE KNOWLEDGE IS GREAT, you do not need to associate it only with great things, for the expression of Knowledge can permeate even the smallest word and the tiniest gesture. Thus, they too can have the greatest impact upon others. The power of Knowledge within one individual is to activate the power of Knowledge in other individuals and thus stimulate and support the regeneration of life within minds that are living in separate fantasies. Within the world you cannot see the overall potency of this, but you can experience it within your own life and see it demonstrated within the context of the relationships with which you are now engaged.

DO NOT THINK YOU KNOW. You either do or you do not. Remember this, for the opportunity for self-deception is still with you because you have not yet been willing to face yourself completely, fearing that what you would find would discourage or destroy you. Yet, when you face yourself completely, all you will find is Knowledge.

IN YOUR DEEPER PRACTICE PERIODS TODAY allow yourself to enter stillness once again, utilizing the methods that you have learned thus far. Do not allow anything to distract you from your purpose. You are part of a Greater Force, and this Greater Force is supporting you.

PRACTICE 234: Two 30-minute practice periods.

7 a.m. Monday, April 9, 2001 – Where am I? Extremely slow, tired, achy this a.m. Why? Went to bed early. Wake up dreams – going to West Virginia – … Starting GIS on a larger scale.

8:05 a.m. Nothing to write. Step 233 – "I am part of a greater force for good in the world". I went into stillness as I read the Step. W/O the timer – stayed about 30 minutes.

7:31 p.m. A tired day. Why? Over exercise on weekend? Not really. Step 233 – "I am part of a Greater Force for Good in the world".

At Food Lion I helped a boy get Potato Rolls his mother had sent him for. …
At 7 p.m. I ate tortilla, herring, olives – my new thing – and I'm having a beer – all before Practice #2 – but that is the mood of the day.

In the past year – incrementally, I've improved my back, completed Steps and expanded my vision, returned to planning, completed River Rec, made peace with Cindy, seen David get a job, and more. No wonder I'm tired.

Martin Luther drank beer and was a spiritual man. So I rationalize my drink – besides – I like it.

8:20 p.m. Indoors – a spotty practice. The threat of intervention does not motivate me.

I was devoted to the Valley. Feel betrayed, though in some ways I've been unburdened. To see what is lost in transition is a sad lesson…don't know what I'll do with it – or anything.

p. 348 GCW II – "You will need this Greater (Spiritual) Power now, for you cannot make this advancement that we have indicated purely on your human motivation alone. You need greater assistance, for you will need a greater mind, a greater will and a greater responsibility in order to meet the challenges in the future".

I need greater motivation now!

– Inspiration – GCW – II – "the most important thing, however, is that you are able to inspire yourself". – Shit – I have to do that too.

On top of everything we have to inspire ourselves! A tiny curse about that – funny? For adults it should be. Let us continue – and be sure to stay inspired.

Note: If you’ve some interest due to this or other Steps, you should go to the beginning blog post. From here you will learn about Steps to Knowledge and can begin it on the day that makes sense; then progress as needed. You can use the posts on this blog as a companion if it helps. They will remain in order in the archives - one post per Step.

Often it takes 18 months to get through the Steps once. For this blog, the pace is one-a-day, but it really makes no difference how fast you do it, only that you begin, persist and repeat. Posts here provide a trail that may let you have a virtual companion when and if you want one. One may have to study alone, as I did in the beginning. There are other Steps students blogging their experience and you might find a person more like you as a companion, or use a number of such Steps journeys. There are options as well through the Free School of the New Message.
